“DAS DING”: Graeme Mitchell at Wilding Cran
By Siobhan Bohnacker
For this week’s Anniversary Issue, we commissioned Graeme Mitchell to photograph the comedy duo Key and Peele for Zadie Smith’s story “Brother from Another Mother.” Mitchell, who is most widely known for his portraiture, relocated to Los Angeles from New York last year in order to focus on his art, which also includes drawing and sculpture. A survey of his work made between 2012 and 2014 is currently on view in a solo show, titled “Das Ding,” at Wilding Cran Gallery, in Los Angeles. Above is a selection from the exhibition.
